Unlike the previous generation with a swivel hinge, Toshiba’s new Tablet PC uses a sliding hinge that closes the computer with the screen out. They have removed the touch capabilities from the previous generation.
This design has a number of fatal flaws. The Wacom digitizer pen is smaller than a standard pen. Because it closes with the screen out, it’s going to be prone to serious scratches on the screen. There is also no touchpad. The touchpad has instead been replaced by a TrackPoint-style device with vertical mouse buttons.
